Review by hotel critic
Nestled in a central location, the Barns offers a delightful retreat for food enthusiasts like myself, always on the lookout for memorable dining experiences. I was pleasantly surprised by the room’s size; spacious and well-equipped, it boasted a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom that had everything I needed, including plates and a fridge for late-night snacking. What truly captured my attention was the hotel’s culinary offerings. Breakfast was included, an enticing spread that set the tone for my day. The ambiance of the restaurant felt inviting, encouraging a leisurely breakfast where I indulged in local specialities. For dinner, I ventured just a short hop to the nearby Junoon Indian Restaurant, renowned for its innovative dishes. The flavors transported me back to my many travels across Asia, a reminder of the culinary journey I adore. I also discovered the Maypole Court Cafe Bistro, only a stone's throw away, offering a quaint setting that felt fitting for the evening. While the check-in process was efficient, it lacked warmth. The modern amenities, including speedy WiFi and effective heating, ensured a comfortable stay. The Barns provided a solid foundation for exploring the local cuisine, striking a balance between comfort and culinary adventure, a key leap to any food lover’s getaway.
